Testimonial From A Participant

The location is just off a side street and is very quite, peaceful and tranquil with a small stream running along side the property.  The surroundings give an individual the opportunity to take a breath and self reflect.  During my breaks and at the end of the day I most certainly did!

BVF is a working operation giving an individual an opportunity to learn and walk away with a new skill set....Specifically, how to organically grow produce, fruits, plants including dehydration techniques. The operation truly practices the concept of "Farm to Fork".  Like any Farm, there's manual labor involved which is good thing.....breaking a sweat is healthy!

Of course, proper screening of any individual prior to this assignment is part of the process and your expertise.

Second, is a huge THANK YOU and acknowledgement to Jeff Middleton, the Co-Founder of BVF.  Jeff is compassionate and understands the journey of not only sobriety but recovery as well.  He affords structure, discipline and responsibility to individuals in the program.  However, do not mistake his kindness as weakness to be taken advantage of.  Jeff gave me an opportunity to work with a 20 something male which I believe was beneficial to both of us.  Pairing up a mature individual with younger generational to share experiences is a good thing which Jeff recognizes.

The following is on the BVF business card:  "Our Mission is to create a safe community that provides hope and employment resources for individuals in substance abuse recovery by growing local produce."  BVF lives up to that Mission Statement.

In summary for me.....Working with Jeff at BVF gave me an opportunity to give back to the community and also regain some of my dignity as I work on my recovery.
